Agent guardrails
Spending limits for AI agents. Checked before money moves.
A limit written in a prompt is a suggestion. A limit in Lotvs is a rule: every payment and trade your agent asks for is checked by Lotvs before anything moves, and refused when it would go over. Nothing the agent reads can change that.

The rules you set
Ten ways to keep an agent in bounds
Limit per payment
The most a single payment may be. $25 unless you change it.
Limit per 24 hours
The most its payments may add up to over any 24 hours, transfers and x402 together. $100 unless you change it.
Limit per trade
The most a single buy or sale may be. $50 unless you change it.
A ceiling on top ups
Each agent's account takes top ups up to $500, and more on request. The most they can ever use is what you put there.
People you allow
Transfers go only to you or to people you added. Any other address is refused, and you are told.
Ask me first
Have every payment wait for your yes, or only payments above an amount. The agent is told to wait, not to pay again.
Switches per action
Paying, buying and selling, Earn and vaults are switched on one by one. Off means refused.
Locked vaults
Money in a locked vault can be taken out only by you.
Pause and end
Pause an agent at once, set the date its access ends, or disconnect it for good.
What it can see
Its own account only, or its own account and your total. Never the rest.

In order
What happens when an agent asks to pay
Every action that moves money goes through one check by Lotvs before anything moves. The first rule that fails is the one the agent is told about.
- 1
Is it allowed to act?
Not paused, its access has not ended, and you switched this kind of action on.
- 2
Is the destination allowed?
A transfer goes to you or to a person you allowed. A vault it names is its own and open.
- 3
Is it within the limits?
Per trade, per payment and per 24 hours, counted together with what is already on its way.
- 4
Is there enough?
The money is free in its account or in the vault it named.
- 5
Does it need your yes?
If you asked to approve payments, it waits for you and nothing is paid until you answer.

Questions
Straight answers
Why not just tell the AI its budget in the prompt?
Because the AI can be wrong, and it can be tricked by what it reads. A rule in Lotvs is enforced before the payment goes through, so no instruction the AI receives can take it past your limit.
Can the agent raise its own limits?
No. Only you can change limits, permissions and who it may pay, from the Lotvs app.
What happens to a payment over the limit?
It is refused and nothing moves. The agent gets one sentence saying which rule stopped it, and you see the attempt in your activity.
Do x402 payments count towards the daily limit?
Yes. Transfers and x402 payments share the limit per payment and the limit per 24 hours.
Can I approve payments myself?
Yes. Choose "ask me every time" or "ask me above" an amount. The payment waits for your answer in the app, and the agent is told to check back rather than pay again.

Important
Limits bound what an agent can do; they do not make its choices good ones. Your agents' money is kept apart from your own account, with each agent's share in Lotvs's records. The AI never holds the money or an address: it can only ask, and only what passes your rules goes through.
