Who holds my money?
You do. Lotvs is non-custodial: your dollars and investments sit in a wallet that only you control. We never hold your funds, and we can’t freeze, move or lend them.
You say you can’t lend my money out. So how does Earn work?
We can’t — you can. Earn never moves your money to us. It lends it to borrowers on Jupiter Lend, a lending market on Solana, and you sign that yourself. Nothing goes in unless you put it in, nothing is moved automatically, and you can take it out whenever you want. Lotvs doesn’t hold it at any point.
Do I need to understand crypto?
No. Sign in with Google and a wallet is set up for you automatically, with no seed phrase and no browser extension. Already use Phantom, Solflare or Backpack? Connect it instead.
What am I buying when I buy a stock?
A tokenized stock (an xStock, issued by Backed) that tracks the price of the real share. You can buy and sell it 24/7, in fractions. It isn’t the share itself and doesn’t come with shareholder rights such as voting.
Is my dollar balance real dollars?
Your balance is held in USDC, a digital dollar issued by Circle and designed to keep a 1:1 value with the US dollar. It isn’t a deposit and isn’t covered by any deposit insurance.
What does it cost?
Signing up is free. Each trade includes a small platform fee that’s always shown before you confirm. With Earn, we keep 10% of what you earned when you withdraw, and nothing if you earned nothing. Solana network fees are usually a fraction of a cent, and card top-ups carry Stripe’s own fees.
Can I lose money?
Yes. Stocks, gold and crypto go up and down, and you can get back less than you put in. Lotvs never promises returns. Only invest what you can afford to lose.
What are the risks of Earn?
It isn’t a bank account and there’s no deposit guarantee. The rate is set by supply and demand, so it can drop within the hour, and a bug or an exploit in the lending protocol could cost you everything you lent. Withdrawals also depend on the market having free liquidity, which tightens exactly when many people withdraw at once. Lotvs never promises a rate. Only lend what you can afford to lose.
Where can I use it?
Almost anywhere. Lotvs is open worldwide apart from a short list of countries, set out in the Terms — the United States among them, because the tokenized stocks are not offered to US persons. Your balance travels with you either way: it lives in your own wallet, not in a country. Card top-ups depend on Stripe’s coverage where you live, and are charged in euros inside the euro zone and in US dollars everywhere else.
